I first became interested in history when I saw the movie Swing Kids as a freshman in college. Although my mother had introduced me to many classic movies over the years, the idea that I could capture the glamour of yesteryear didn’t click for quite a while.
From that point on, my interest steadily grew, and I found myself being consumed with a deep love of the 1940s—I felt I had truly found my niche. As my closets filled with vintage clothing, and I became adept at 1940s hairstyling and makeup application, it was only natural for my interests to turn toward pinups.
With a little push from my husband, and the talent of a great photographer, I began working on capturing that special blend of innocence and sex appeal which made the pinup of the 1930s-50s so alluring.
