Dominic Halpin has long been established as the hottest act on the Australian swing scene. Dubbed the 'new master of lounge' by the Sydney Morning Herald, Dominic quickly gained his reputation as "Australia’s Mr Swing" with his weekly energetic shows at Sydney's Harbourside Casino. Dominic's albums received extensive airplay on Australia's national radio network and he was awarded the accolade of Best New Swing Club Act in 2002.
Now in the UK, Dominic Halpin & the Honey B's have already established themselves as a firm favourite in celebrity circles with an overwhelming response from their show at Blenheim Palace and a guest appearance at the wedding of West End stars Ruthie Henshall and Tim Howar. They have also performed by request for Elle Macpherson and have played shows at various London jazz venues.
Dominic's new Musical Director Nigel McGill gained recognition in the UK as conductor for the 2003 national tour of the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, and has worked as Musical Director such artists such Lorna Luft, Al Martino and Las Vegas star Bob Anderson. His big band performs nightly on the hit show 'Ratpack - Live from Las Vegas' at venues all over the UK and Europe. Nigel's distinctive saxophone playing has been featured in jazz ensembles, big bands and orchestras at festivals across the UK, Australia and Japan.
November saw Dominic Halpin and the Honey B's promoting the launch of their latest album Cha Cha Boom at venues around the world, including a special guest appearance at the Abu Dhabi International Jazz Festival.
