Hello there, and welcome to the first rundown of what's been happening in the magical retro world of The Café at Port Halcyon. Perhaps there'll be people you know, maybe many you don't, but as long as you're with us, I'd doubt you'll be at all bored!
As we move gracefully into spring, there have been a vast number of 'newbies' to the forum! This is wonderful, as it means that the retro community is getting recognised more and more every day. Yet, alas, the influx of newcomers has started to diminish—perhaps the conversation about picnicking has inspired an exodus with blankets and baskets...? Our most prolific new members are FunkyButt from Seattle, retroruby66 from California, and deadpan-diva from Los Angeles—congratulations!
Some of the most tooth-gnashing topics this forum has seen recently have to do with politics and, strangely, Courtney Love. It seems that we are much happier when talking about retro topics, which inevitably are things we like! The longest topic at the moment is the "just who the hell are you?" thread, which gives members a chance to post pictures of themselves so we know who we're talking to—it's a very good idea, and by the looks of it, is very popular!

We have a number of veterans on here as well. People who have managed to post more than 1000, and who always seem to bring sense (or chaos) to the place. Notable members: zootsuitcoot, fairyprintsets, SusieQT, and lindydivaus. However, the number of posts are rising very quickly, so it doesn't take long to become a veteran (what with so much to talk about)!
The most ever-changing forum is that of "anything goes"—we've seen in the past month: setting lotion, poi, a new roommate for c1950sboy, a vintage photo caption contest, the S.S Halcyon setting sail, a never ending story, and a baby deciding to come early—I suppose it's all in a day's work. Of course, every other thread continues to flourish, and information is being handed out at rapid speed—all aiding the retrospective look at today's society.

Best-
Lindy Laura
